Cranium Skylight is an alternative music group formed in San Francisco, California in 2006 by Michael Prahl and Amanda Prahl, who are brother and sister. They are currently based in Los Angeles. Cranium Skylight is a metaphor for inspiration, allowing light to shine on thoughts and feelings, and expressing inner visions. It is an attempt to make energetic connections and bring the heart and imagination together in harmony.
Michael is a songwriter, guitar player, and vocalist for Cranium Skylight. He began playing guitar and recording music at a young age. In his college years he studied art and music and attended many musical performances, feeling great inspiration from the energy of live shows. Michael is a music producer, mixing and mastering the albums at his North Hollywood studio.
Amanda is a songwriter, keyboard and synthesizer player, and vocalist for Cranium Skylight. She studied psychology, art, and music in college, realizing that a great form of music therapy is to create new music with an original sound. In addition to creating musical compositions, Amanda is behind much of the visual artwork and videos.
Cranium Skylight has released three studio albums, Beyond Words (2024), Internalizer (2014), All Grown Over (2008) and a remix EP, Externalizer (2021). A new remix EP is to be released in 2025.
